Luke Maye made the winning shot "The Shot" with 0.3 seconds left in the offensive half to lead by 2 points, 75-73.

Thanks to Luke Maye's winning shot, we managed to escape!

Thank you, Luke Maye!

Luke Maye's The Shot is a must-see!

April 1, 2017: UNC 77-76 University of Oregon

UNC defeated the University of Oregon 77-76 in the Final 4 (semifinals) of the NCAA Tournament.

The game was competitive from the start, with UNC leading by three points, 39-36, in the first half.

In the second half, UNC continued to lead, but could not pull away from the University of Oregon, and the game remained a tight battle with only a few points in the lead.

Leading by one point, 77-76, with seven seconds left in the second half, an opponent foul gave Kennedy Meeks two free throws.

Kennedy Meeks missed both, but Theo Pinson grabbed the offensive rebound and Joel Berry II was next awarded two free throws with four seconds left in the second half.

Joel Berry II also missed both free throws by no means, but Kennedy Meeks got the next offensive rebound and UNC ball "won it" as time expired.

"The one who controls the rebound, controls the game!" It's true!

Let's chew on this victory as we take on the NCAA Tournament finals!

Go Heels!

April 3, 2017: UNC 71-65 Gonzaga University

In the NCAA Tournament final, UNC defeated Gonzaga University 71-65.

Joel Berry II scored 22 points, Justin Jackson added 16, and Isaiah Hicks had 13.

The game was back-and-forth from the start, with the teams trailing by three points, 32-35, in the first half.

Gonzaga's Nigel Williams-Goss (#5) was hard to stop, and there were some inexplicable foul calls, and UNC's defense did not seem to be working well.

The game went into clutch time tied 63-63 with 2:09 left in the second half.

A 2-pointer by Nigel Williams-Goss with 1:53 left in the second half gave UNC a two-point lead, 63-65, with 1:53 left in the second half.

On the next possession, Justin Jackson was fouled by Nigel Williams-Goss and made a 2P+AND1 3-point play with 1:40 left in the half to lead by one, 66-65.

The teams remained deadlocked as neither team's offense could get going, but Isaiah Hicks made a 2-point jump shot near the bottom of the goal with 26 seconds left in the half to extend the lead to three points, 68-65.

On the next possession, Nigel Williams-Goss almost made a 2-point shot with 16 seconds left in the second half, but Kennedy Meeks' The Block stopped it.

Joel Berry II picked up the spill and connected with Justin Jackson for a quick dunk to extend the lead to five, 70-65.

The opponents, perhaps in a hurry with a five-point lead, made a careless long pass, which resulted in another steal by Kennedy Meeks.

Joel Berry II was fouled and made 1 of 2 free throws with 7 seconds left in the second half to make it a 6-point game, 71-65.

It was a game decided by the quality of play in clutch time.

UNC won the NCAA Tournament in 2017!

Congratulations to UNC and thank you for your support!
