October 27, 2017: UNC 91-80 Barton College (Exhibition, Wins and Losses Do Not Count)

UNC defeated Barton College 91-80.

Luke Maye had 18 points and 11 rebounds, Theo Pinson had 14 points, Garrison Brooks had 13 points and 9 rebounds, and Cameron Johnson had 11 points.

November 10, 2017: UNC 86-69 University of Northern Iowa

UNC defeated the University of Northern Iowa 86-69.

Luke Maye had 26 points and 10 rebounds, Garrison Brooks had 14 points, and Kenny Williams had 10 points.

November 15, 2017: UNC 93-81 Bucknell University

UNC defeated Bucknell University 93-81.

Luke Maye had 20 points and 9 rebounds, Theo Pinson had 19 points, Sterling Manley had 16 points and 13 rebounds, Kenny Williams had 10 points, and Garrison Brooks had 10 points.

It's a nice, balanced offense!

Joel Berry II made his return from injury, but he is still not in his element, shooting 1 of 11 (1 of 5 on threes).

UNC defeated Stanford 96-72.

Joel Berry II scored 29 points, Kenny Williams had 20, and Luke Maye had 12 points and 9 rebounds.

UNC defeated the University of Arkansas 87-68.

Luke Maye had 28 points and 16 rebounds, Kenny Williams had 19 points, and Joel Berry II had 13 points.

UNC lost to Michigan State 45-63.

It hurt that our 3-point shooting was abysmal at 5.6% (1 of 18)...

UNC defeated Tulane University 97-73.

Luke Maye had 22 points and 10 rebounds, Joel Berry II and Kenny Williams had 13 points.

December 6, 2017: UNC 104-61 Western Carolina University

UNC defeated Western Carolina University 104-61.

Jarek Felton had 15 points, Kenny Williams had 13, Luke Maye had 12 points and 12 rebounds, Joel Berry II had 12, Andrew Platek had 11, and Brandon Robinson had 10.

That's a good balance of scoring, with six players scoring 10 or more points.

UNC defeated the University of Tennessee 78-73.

Joel Berry II scored 21 points, Kenny Williams had 15, Luke Maye had 15, and Sterling Manley had 10.

December 20, 2017: UNC 75-79 Wofford College

UNC lost a close game to Wofford College, 75-79.

In the first half, UNC was trailing by one point, 33-34, but the onslaught from the start of the second half pushed the score to 14, 43-57, with 13:28 remaining in the game.

We tried to catch up with them, but we could not get any closer.

The reason for our defeat was that we could not control the game well...

December 23, 2017: UNC 86-72 Ohio State University

UNC defeated Ohio State 86-72.

Theo Pinson scored 19 points, Joel Berry II had 19, Cameron Johnson had 14, and Jarek Felton had 12.

UNC was trailing by 11 points, 40-51, in the first half and came back in the second half but could not score one more point to escape...

It's so frustrating...

January 6, 2018: UNC 49-61 University of Virginia

UNC lost to the University of Virginia 49-61.

The University of Virginia is very strong...

UNC has lost two in a row, so we hope UNC don't lose three in a row...

January 9, 2018: UNC 96-66 Boston College

UNC defeated Boston College 96-66.

Luke Maye had 32 points and 18 rebounds, Cameron Johnson had 14 points and 11 rebounds, Joel Berry II had 13 points, and Kenny Williams had 10 points.

The team snapped its losing streak at two and won comfortably.

January 13, 2018: UNC 69-68 University of Notre Dame

UNC defeated Notre Dame 69-68.

Luke Maye had 18 points and 11 rebounds, Joel Berry II scored 15 points, and Theo Pinson added 13.

Trailing by one point, 67-68, with seven seconds left in the second half, Joel Berry II made both of his clutch free throws to win by one point.

UNC defeated Georgia Tech 80-66.

UNC lost to Virginia Tech 69-80.

We were comprehensively outplayed by our opponent, who was in great shape...

UNC lost a close game to Clemson University 78-82.

February 3, 2018: UNC 96-65 University of Pittsburgh

UNC had a convincing 96-65 win over the University of Pittsburgh.

Luke Maye had 26 points, Kenny Williams 15, Cameron Johnson 14, Joel Berry II 12, Garrison Brooks 10, and Sterling Manley 10.

It was good to see the team not only stop a three-game losing streak, but also win comfortably!

That's a balanced offense with 6 players scoring 10 or more points!

UNC defeated Duke University 82-78.

Joel Berry II scored 21 points, Kenny Williams had 20 points, Cameron Johnson had 18 points and 13 rebounds, and Luke Maye had 15 points.

Duke University was a tough opponent, but UNC managed to pull out the win!

UNC defeated North Carolina State 96-89.

Luke Maye had 33 points and 17 rebounds, Joel Berry II had 16, Cameron Johnson 13, Kenny Williams 11, and Theo Pinson 11.

UNC defeated Notre Dame 83-66.

Joel Berry II scored 21 points, Theo Pinson had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Kenny Williams had 14 points, and Cameron Johnson had 13 points.

UNC defeated the University of Louisville 93-76.

UNC lost a close game to the University of Miami 88-91.

The winning 3-point buzzer beater was made by Ja'Quan Newton (number #0) of the University of Miami.

We remember the nightmare of the 3-point buzzer beater by Villanova's Kris Jenkins (#2) in the 2016 NCAA Tournament final...

March 3, 2018: UNC 64-74 Duke University

UNC lost to Duke University 64-74.

In the first half, UNC led by as many as 10 points, 35-25.

UNC led by 6 points, 44-38, with 13:24 left in the second half, but suffered a comeback loss after Joel Berry II got into foul trouble on his third foul and was replaced.

Without a good point guard like Joel Berry II, the game is broken...

March 7, 2018: UNC 78-59 Syracuse University

UNC's first round opponent in the ACC Tournament was Syracuse University.

UNC defeated Syracuse University 78-59.

Kenny Williams had 17 points, Theo Pinson 16 points and 11 rebounds, Cameron Johnson 13 points, and Luke Maye 13 points.

March 8, 2018: UNC 82-65 University of Miami

In the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament, UNC defeated the University of Miami 82-65.

Theo Pinson had 25 points and 11 rebounds, Cameron Johnson had 13 points, Kenny Williams had 11 points, and Joel Berry II had 11 points.

It was nice to get some revenge for February 27, 2018.

In the ACC Tournament semifinals, UNC defeated Duke University 74-69.

Luke Maye had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Joel Berry had 13, Kenny Williams 10, Cameron Johnson 10, and Garrison Brooks 10.

In the first round of the NCAA Tournament, UNC defeated Lipscomb University 84-66.

In the second round of the NCAA Tournament, UNC lost to Texas A&M University 65-86.

It hurt too much because UNC made an abysmal 19.4% (6 of 31) of our 3-point attempts...

Summary

UNC's record for the 2017-2018 season was 26-11 (.703 winning percentage).

We did not win the NCAA Tournament in 2017 for the second year in a row, but we did achieve a certain level of success.
