Nishi Tokyo (Tokyo, Japan)
Nishi Tokyo is located in the western part of Tokyo.
Nishi Tokyo City was established on January 21, 2001 through the merger of Tanashi City and Hoya City.
The features of Nishi Tokyo are as follows.
- Location: Nishi Tokyo is located in the western part of Tokyo.
- Residential Area: Mainly residential, with a mix of residential, commercial and green areas.
- Local Attractions: Nishi Tokyo is home to Sky Tower Nishi Tokyo (commonly known as Nishi Tokyo Tower or Tanashi Tower), Tamarokuto Science Museum, and Nishi Tokyo City Local History Museum.
- Park: Shitanoya Iseki Park was designated as a national historic site on March 10, 2015.
- Festival: The Nishi Tokyo Citizens' Festival held every November is well known!
- Education: Nishi Tokyo is home to the Higashifushimi Campus of Waseda University, one of the most prestigious universities in Japan.
- Transportation: There are several train stations in Nishi Tokyo, providing convenient access to central Tokyo and other parts of the Tokyo metropolitan area.
- Lake Tama Bicycle Path: The Lake Tama Bicycle Path is a metropolitan road that runs from Nishi Tokyo City to the southern end of the Lake Tama dike in Higashimurayama City. The distance of the Tama Lake Bicycle Path is 13.6miles (21.9km), and its starting point is Shinmachi, Nishi Tokyo City, Tokyo, and its ending point is Tamako-cho, Higashimurayama City, Tokyo.
- Lake Tama (Murayama Reservoir): An artificial lake located in Higashiyamato City, west of Nishi Tokyo City. It is the largest lake in Tokyo that does not straddle other prefectures, with an area of 321acres (1.3\(km^2\)).
Although not as widely known as other parts of Tokyo, Nishi Tokyo City has its own attractions, parks, and cultural facilities.

Tama Lake Cycling Road
This is a vlog of sightseeing along Tama Lake Cycling Road.

We cycled from Nishi Tokyo City to Higashi Yamato City in Tama Lake Cycling Road.
The course is shown in the map below, and it takes 44 minutes/10.3km.
The course was very beautiful with autumn leaves and flowers along Seibu-Tamagawa line.

We cycled from Higashi Yamato City to Nishi Tokyo City in Tama Lake Cycling Road.
The course is 42 minutes/10.3 km on the map shown below.
