Tokyo Tower & Around (Tokyo, Japan)
Tokyo Tower is one of Tokyo's most famous landmarks and a popular tourist attraction in Japan.
The features of Tokyo Tower are as follows.
- Overview: Tokyo Tower is a communication and observation tower located in Minato-ku, Tokyo. It is 1,092feet (333m) tall, taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris (1,083feet (330m)). Its main function is to transmit television and radio signals.
- Observation Decks: Tokyo Tower has two observation decks that offer spectacular views of Tokyo. The Main Deck (formerly the Main Observatory) is 492 feet (150m) high, and the Top Deck (formerly the Special Observatory) is 820feet (250m) high. Visitors can take the elevator up to these decks and enjoy breathtaking views of Tokyo, especially during the day and at night.
- Foottown: At the base of Tokyo Tower is the "Foottown" complex, which houses a variety of stores, restaurants, and attractions. There are many souvenir stores and cafes.
- Illumination: Tokyo Tower's illumination changes colors and patterns according to the season and special occasions. The lights are especially beautiful at night.
The area around Tokyo Tower is characterized by the following features.
- Zojoji Temple: This Buddhist temple is located right next to Tokyo Tower. In contrast to the modernity of Tokyo Tower, Zojoji Temple is a peaceful and historic place. You can stroll around the temple grounds and enjoy the calm atmosphere.
