Toyosu (Tokyo, Japan)
Toyosu is a district in Koto-ku, Tokyo and is famous for the Toyosu fish market.
The features of Toyosu are as follows.
- Toyosu Fish Market: Toyosu Fish Market is one of the most famous seafood markets in Tokyo; in 2018, the seafood wholesale market operations were relocated to Toyosu and became the successor to the historic Tsukiji Fish Market. The market is famous for its auctions, where restaurant owners and seafood buyers can be seen bidding on fresh seafood from early in the morning. There is also an observation area where visitors can observe the market.
- The Toyosu Market Complex: Toyosu Market is more than just a fish market. It is a vast complex that includes several buildings, including a fish wholesale market, a produce wholesale market, and a flower wholesale market. Visitors can explore the various sections of the market and witness the hustle and bustle of commerce.
- Observation Deck: The Toyosu Market has an observation deck that offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, including Tokyo Bay, Odaiba, and the iconic Rainbow Bridge. It is a great spot to take pictures and enjoy the cityscape!
- Easy Accessibility: Toyosu is well-connected to the rest of Tokyo and relatively easy to get to. The Yurikamome Line connects to Shinbashi Station and Odaiba, and the Yurakucho Line connects to various parts of central Tokyo.
- Parks and Greenspace: Although Toyosu is best known as a market and commercial area, there are also several parks and recreational spaces. Toyosu Park and Toyosu Gururi Park are great places to relax and spend time outdoors.
- Residential and Commercial Development: In addition to the Toyosu Fish Market, Toyosu has seen large-scale residential and commercial development in recent years. Modern housing complexes, shopping centers, and restaurants line the streets, making it an attractive place to live and work.
In Toyosu, visitors can experience a fusion of traditional Japanese fish market culture and modern urban development!
