March 23, 1957: UNC 54-53 University of Kansas

Here is a video of UNC's first NCAA Tournament win on March 23, 1957.

The resolution is low because it is an old video, but you can see that UNC got a free throw and made both of them with 6 seconds left in the second half at 1:05:23 with the score 52-53 in UNC vs. the University of Kansas.

The free throws were the final points of the game, giving UNC a 54-53 win over the University of Kansas.

UNC's Lennie Rosenbluth scored 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.

UNC was 32-0 all-time in the 1956-1957 season!

March 29, 1982: UNC 63-62 Georgetown University

Here is a video of UNC winning its second NCAA Tournament on March 29, 1982.

The opponent, Georgetown University's Patrick Ewing was a phenomenal performer.

The scene where basketball god Michael Jordan scored the winning shot "The First Shot" with 15 seconds left in the second half is very famous!

Then there was the controversial missed pass by Georgetown's Fred Brown to UNC's James Worthy with 7 seconds left in the second half.

The final score was 63-62 in favor of Michael Jordan.

April 5, 1993: UNC 77-71 University of Michigan

Here is a video of UNC winning its third NCAA Tournament championship on April 5, 1993.

The famous travel allegation by Jalen Rose of the University of Michigan with 17 seconds left in the second half and the technical foul with 11 seconds left in the second half for trying to call a timeout when there was no timeout.

The technical foul was the deciding factor in UNC's 77-71 win.

April 4, 2005: UNC 75-70 University of Illinois

This is a video of UNC winning its fourth NCAA Tournament on April 4, 2005.

The game was evenly matched from start to finish, and with two minutes left in the second half, it was 70-70, and neither team was sure who would win.

UNC then scored and made a pair of free throws to win 75-70.

UNC's Sean May (#42), shown dunking in the thumbnail, had 26 points and 10 rebounds.

April 6, 2009: UNC 89-72 Michigan State University

Here is a video of UNC winning its 5th NCAA Tournament in 2009.

It was a one-sided affair with UNC leading by 21 points in the first half, 55-34.

The 55 points scored in the first half is a new NCAA Tournament final record.

UNC maintained the lead in the second half and won by 17 points, 89-72.

UNC's #50 player in the thumbnail is Tyler Hansbrough, whose number is retired like Michael Jordan, scoring 18 points.

April 3, 2017: UNC 71-65 Gonzaga University

Here is a video of UNC winning its 6th NCAA Tournament on April 3, 2017.

The opponent, Gonzaga University, has Rui Hachimura (Unfortunately, he didn't play in this game…).

The game was back-and-forth, and UNC led by one point, 66-65, with less than a minute left in the second half.

UNC then scored back-to-back points to escape with a 71-65 win.

Justin Jackson (#44), shown in the thumbnail attempting a dunk, had 16 points.
