What is Gemini (formerly Bard)? AI Chatbot by Google

Gemini (formerly Bard) is a large-scale language model released by Google in December 2023.

From February 8, 2024, Gemini was integrated into Bard and became the name of the AI chatbot.

Note that the English pronunciation of Gemini is "Geminai," but the Japanese reading is "Gemini.

Gemini is a competitor of OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Gemini offers the following three Large Language Models.

  • Gemini Ultra: the best performing and largest model for very complex tasks
  • Gemini Pro: the best model for a wide range of tasks
  • Gemini Nano: the most efficient model for tasks on the device
